There is the top of the line Stache 9 we have here with a good, solid spec. Sure-footed mid-fat tires, a 1x12 drivetrain, 130mm of front and rear travel, super short chainstays, and some ridiculously clever engineering make this 29+ trail bike the ideal rig for rugged singletrack and trail explorations. The Stache began as Trek's 'Project Weird' R&D test-bed in early 2012 and evolved, via confluence of design, process, fortuitous events and serendipity, into the category-killing winner it is today. Hydraulic disc brakes provide amazing stopping power, no matter what the terrain. Something that does OK in snow, i.e, better than my mtb but not quite so single purpose as a fat bike. A slack by-hardtail-standards 68 degree head tube (when running a Fox Factory 34 fork at 140mm travel) strikes just the right balance for ripping flowy terrain.
